Italy
Italian wines are known throughout the world. Viticulture is a major economic sector in Italy. No wonder – Italy is among the five largest wine producers in the world. Whether red or white wine, sparkling, Prosecco , or rosé – you can find it all in Italy. Native grape varieties play a significant role. Italy has a total of 21 wine-growing regions.
It begins in the north with South Tyrol, Friuli , Veneto , Trento, Lombardy , Aosta Valley, Piedmont , and Liguria. In the central part of Italy, you'll find the regions of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany , Sardinia, Marche , Umbria, Lazio , Abruzzo , Molise, and Campania.
The southern part includes the regions of Apulia , Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily .
Wine is also cultivated extensively on the island of Sardinia .
