Grape varieties

Corvina Veronese, Covinone, Rondinella, Oseleta. These four grape varieties form the basis of Allegrini's Amarone. The right combination of the four

Grape varieties lay the foundation for the success or failure of such great red wines. Every year, countless wine tasting sessions are held by the key people at the winery to determine the right combination year after year.

Smell & Taste

The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG boasts great aromatic intensity. Concentrated dark fruits, a hint of undergrowth, and robust notes of spice and tobacco. This red wine offers a powerful concentration combined with wonderful strength. Very flavorful with beautifully integrated acidity.

This is where Amarone della Valpolicella grapes grow.

The vineyards lie at an altitude of 450-520 meters above sea level. The soils in the Valpolicella region are diverse. They are calcareous and stony, which leads to good aeration and loose structure. The vines are on average 40 years old. The planting density at Allegrini is approximately 5000 vines per hectare.

Design & Construction

At Allegrini, the grape drying process takes over 100 days. During this time, the grapes lose over 40% of their natural weight, most of which is water. However, the long wait is worthwhile.
