Le Serre Nuove is the proud second wine of the Ornellaia estate. It is a blend of 50% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, and 11% Petit Verdot. The different grape varieties are initially fermented separately in small stainless steel tanks to preserve their varietal characteristics. Le Serre Nuove is then aged for 15 months in barriques. After bottling, it matures for a further 6 months in the bottle before being released.
